NEWLY promoted Super Division soccer league side CRO FC (Child Restoration Outreach) has recruited veteran David Otti as head coach ahead of the Super League kick-off. Otti coached relegated City Lads FC last season.
The chairman of the Mbale-based CRO Moses Bwayo confirmed to The New Vision at the team’s training ground over the weekend that they have already finalised the contract terms with Otti, who was expected in CRO’s camp early this week.
Meanwhile, the club has laid off 17 players who featured for the team in the first division league campaign but retained 15, Bwayo disclosed.
To bolster the squad, the club intends to recruit defender Musa Malunda and Kenyan striker Geoffrey Tie Tie from relegated Mbale Heroes, goalkeeper Monte Olupot (Iganga FC), and winger Ayub Didiya from Tororo’s Division I club Rock Star FC.
Bwayo said midfielders Yasin Mwanika and John Wasike who were last season loaned to Mbale Heroes are back to CRO’s camp.
CRO earned promotion to the Super League after beating Jinja Municipal Council 3-1 in the final of the eastern region super mini-league.
