Some of the guys around town (that is the usual sitters – boda boda-guys, taxi drivers and loiterers) have taken to calling me Mafabi. Apparently, they have decided that since I have been around for so long, I must be an African, more specifically a Mugisu by tribe, and not a Muzungu as the first thought. The only problem is that some of them have also begun addressing me exclusively in Lugisu. This makes communications a bit hard, since the only Lugisu word I know is «Melembe», which means something like «hello». Nevertheless, I have decided to accept my new name. And I’ll better have Derick help me hone my language skills.
